Winning bets, he follows on the horse theme where he heads up to the eastern fringes of India, to the state of Manipur, the actual birthplace of the modern game of Polo. He rendezvous with the women's polo club in Imphal, and learns the basics of the game, and finds out that there is infact a horse God that the players worship! Manipur offers many hidden tales; Jonathan picks up nuggets from the Japanese incursion in the area, learns about a fringe religion called Sanamahism, and dives into the regional martial arts!
